Percentage Change vs. Percentage Points

Percentage change is relative. Percentage points are absolute differences between percentages.

• From 10% to 12%: +2 percentage points, which is a 20% increase relative to 10%.
• From 40% to 30%: −10 percentage points, a −25% change.
